- What is Positive Pressure?
- Positive pressure distributes fresh air from your attic/loft into your home through ventilation points, called diffusers, in your ceiling and the resultant airflow pushes old stale air out of your home through gaps around windows and doors.
- Why do I need home ventilation?
- To stop condensation, dampness and mould from developing in your home as well as preventing the deterioration of home fixtures and furnishings. Ventilation gives you vastly improved air quality in your home, alleviating the effect of Asthma, Allergies and other breathing difficulties.
- How much does it cost?
- The majority of homes are between $1,600 – $2,300, depending on the number of diffusers installed to create an airflow in your home.
- How long does it take to install?
- Most homes will take no longer than half a day.
- Where is the unit installed?
- The unit is hung in a convenient place in the ceiling space
- How many diffusers do I need?
- The number of diffusers depends on the number of rooms, and design of your home. The diffusers are placed strategically to create an airflow throughout your home.
- How does the unit operate?
- The Drimaster unit is a completely automatic ventilation unit, switching to different modes as required to make optimum use of energy. The settings will be set on installation to achieve the best result in your home.
- How much does the system cost to run?
- Approximately $2 a month for 24 hour a day operation, because the highly efficient fan is powered by a 12 volt DC motor which uses very little power.
- How often do filters need changing?
- The filters only require changing every 5 years, and this is indicated by the sensor installed in your hallway. Call us on 0800 639 247 to get your filters changed.
- How much do the filters cost?
- The filters cost a total of $180 if you wish to change them yourself. We do charge a call out fee to come and change them for you.

- What does a Red Flashing light mean?
- It could mean your Drimaster system is due for the filters to be changed. Or there is another issue. Phone us on 0800 639 247 or Campbell on 021 739 370 to help.
- Can I get someone to change my DRIMASTER filters for me?
- Yes call us on 0800 639247 and we will arrange for someone to come and change your filters.
- Can I change the filters myself?
- Yes you can change the filters yourself. Call us to purchase your replacement Drimaster filters and we courier them to you so you can replace them.

- They are made in Caerphilly, South Wales by Nuaire Ltd. Nuaire has been manufacturing Drimaster Ventilation system since the early 1970’s.
- How long have Drimaster system been in New Zealand?
- Drimaster ventilation systems have been installed in New Zealand since the 1990’s.

- What is Balanced Pressure?
- A balanced pressure system works by taking fresh air from outside the home, passing it through a heat exchanger and distributing this fresh air throughout the home. At the same time an equal amount of old stale air is extracted from the home, passed through the heat exchanger to warm the incoming air and then pumped outside.
- By supplying and extracting equal quantities of air, the air pressure in the home is maintained at a constant level.
- Why do I need home ventilation?

- How much does it cost?
- The majority of homes cost between $4,000 – $6,000 depending on size, number of rooms and the number of diffusers needed to create the right amount of air movement throughout your home.
- How long does it take to install?
- Generally most installations take less than a day, depending on the size and complexity of your home.
- Where is the unit installed?
- Predominately in the ceiling space, however it can be installed anywhere within the home as the unit does not draw air from the roof cavity but rather from outside the home.
- How many diffusers can be installed?
- A maximum of 7 supply vents and 2 return vents per HEX390 unit.
- How do I control the output of the unit?
- Via a digital controller, usually located in the hallway
- What conditions is the unit most effective?
- The HEX390 is effective in both winter and summer as it will use the internal air via the heat exchanger to create a comfortable temperature for your home. An internal heat source is required during the winter months.
- How much does it cost to run?
- At current electricity prices it will cost approximately $1 a day to run for 24 hours.
- How often do the filters need changing?
- The Hex390 has 2 filters which will need replacing every 9 – 12 months. These filters are washable and can be used 3 times before they need replacement meaning a total filter life of 27 – 36 months. The filter change is a very simple operation.
- How much do new filters cost?
- The new filters are $56 each, which equates to $112 for a set. You can do the filter change yourself or you can request us to come and do the change, however we do charge a callout fee.
